Local 568 provides comprehensive skilled trades training on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Our programs combine classroom instruction with hands-on training to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills, and safety standards our members need to succeed in today’s industry.
Local 568 Apprenticeship Training
5-Year Apprenticeship
A comprehensive five-year program that combines technical education with hands-on training, preparing apprentices to become highly skilled professionals in pipefitting, welding, plumbing, and HVACR.
Earn While You Learn
​Earn while you learn through Local 568’s partnership with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Apprentices receive paid, on-the-job training and classroom instruction with no tuition costs, providing a direct path to a skilled career without traditional student debt.
Safety Training
​Comprehensive safety training prepares members to work safely and confidently in demanding commercial and industrial environments, with instruction in OSHA standards, jobsite hazards, and industry best practices.
Industry Certifications
​Specialized training in welding, rigging, medical gas, and more helps members earn nationally recognized certifications and expand their skills throughout their careers.
ALREADY IN THE TRADE?
Applicants must have at least five years of verifiable field experience and reside within Local 568’s jurisdiction. Qualified applicants will be required to complete a skills assessment based on their trade and experience.

STARTING YOUR JOURNEY?
Apply in person at the Local 568 Union Hall on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Applicants should bring a valid photo ID, Social Security card, high school diploma, and birth certificate.
